Living with Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) can feel like you're carrying an invisible weight around with you every day. If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by constant worry, or like your mind is always racing with "what if" scenarios, you might be dealing with GAD. Here’s what it might look like—and how you might relate to it.
The Endless Worry
Imagine waking up every morning with a sense of dread. Before you even get out of bed, your mind starts racing—about your job, your family, your health, or even things that might not happen. It’s like your brain is always searching for something to worry about, and once it finds something, it latches on and won’t let go.
This worry isn’t just about one thing: it’s about everything. You might worry about your performance at work, even if you’re doing well. Or maybe you constantly think about your loved ones’ safety, replaying worst-case scenarios in your mind. This constant worrying can make it hard to focus on anything else, leaving you feeling mentally and physically exhausted.
With therapy, I help you discover the underlying thoughts and beliefs that are leading you to constantly worry about things that may later on may seem irrational. We use a therapy called CBT to uncover those deeper thoughts and beliefs that are pushing out those anxious feelings and then we work together to change those thoughts and beliefs to get rid of the anxiety altogether.
