I graduated with my MSW from Indiana University School of Social Work in 2002. After graduation, I moved to Arizona and worked in a variety of settings and became independently licensed with the state in 2012.
I've worked with the schools on IEPs and behavior issues, done intensive family therapy and ran an intenisve outpatient group for individuals with depression and anxiety.
I returned to Arizona in 2018 after spending 5 years on active duty with the US Navy providing services to active duty/veterans and their families.
I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for depression, anxiety and insomnia. I am trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy and Prolonged Exposure for PTSD. I have also recently trained in ERP for OCD. I also use Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to help with emotional regulation and mindfulness.

Our thoughts guide our emotions and our emotions guide our actions. Changing our thoughts can literally change our life.
I work with clients to become aware of inaccurate or negative thinking so they can view challenging situations more clearly and respond to them in a more effective way. I help clients learn to identify and then change the way they think and replace it with more realistic and positive thinking. I also use exposure to help reduce anxiety related to obsessions or compulsions as well as generalized anxiety.
We work together to develop clear goals that will help us determine when treatment is completed and what treatment would be the most effective.

Therapy can sometimes be uncomfortable and painful but it is also a fascinating look into why we do the things we do and react to certain situations in specific ways. I want you to be excited about the opportunities therapy can bring and to feel like each session brings you closer to the life you want to be living.
My priority is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental environment and therapeutic relationship that is effective in treating symptoms and in discovering the underlying issues that cause them.
